Harvey & Jessica, West End Ballroom

I met Harvey at a wedding we were both working at the summer before his own. He was the DJ and I was doing day of set up and coordinating. We worked together throughout the evening going through the timeline of first dances and speeches, and before I left for the evening he asked if I would be available to do his own wedding later that year. What an honor to be asked by another vendor to help with his wedding. I agreed to do so, and before you knew it December 31st came.

They got married at The West End Ballroom, an old movie house turned into event venue.

Powers Studios captured the night perfectly.

Amanda Karam Floral did a stunning job on their flowers, and Encore Mobile DJ’s made it impossible to stay in your seats.

Everyone danced the night away and rang in the new year in a big way.

Harvey and his bride Jessica both got ready that clear cold morning at Hotel Deluxe in downtown Portland.

They took their time getting ready and taking their first look shots which turned out beautiful on the roof top.

Jenna & Zach 7.13.19

What a beautiful wedding day starting with the mountain view and ending with a happily married couple.

Jenna and Zach were so much fun to work with. They asked me to help them with day of coordination for their wedding to ensure everything was set up exactly how they wanted it to be. They both had such a kind energy and energetic spirit that made everything about the day perfect. Every single person there that day was thrilled to be celebrating their wedding, and it shows in the dancing, the smiles and the cheering that went on throughout the night.

They spoiled their wedding guests with PDX sliders and ice cream from The Mobile Scoop Shop. Everyone was over the moon happy to have juicy burgers, seasoned fries and smooth ice cream to cool off with. Let’s be honest: it’s what most really want when it comes to wedding food.

Jenna and Zach gifted their guests personalized mason drinking mugs to keep refilling all night and take home with them.

They were all well-used throughout the night.

The rest of the pictures below are just some of my favorites captured by Kalahan and Sean, the dream team photographers that caught all the beauty that day.

My Best Friend's Shower

This event was extra special for me to have had a hand in. The gorgeous bride has been my best friend since we were twelve years old. She got married in Valle de Guadelupe, Mexico, but her shower was held here in her home town at The Historic Cedar School. All of the beautiful photos were taken by Colleen Cahill Studios.

We incorporated her favorite things, champagne, brunch, laughter and sunshine to make it perfect for her. Though we didn’t have much to do with the weather, we take full credit for all the other details.

The beautiful signage was done by the venue manger Jaclyn Kaba who also stood as bridesmaid and can make everything look amazing!

I wanted to add detail to the champagne bar with rose implanted ice cubes to make a statement. The ice tray only made twelve cubes at a time, so as you can imagine I started the process days before.

Angie & Mike, Portland Art Museum

Angie, the beautiful bride, approached me late in her planning stages asking for help to make sure her wedding day was perfect. We met together with her florist [Amanda Karam Floral] to go over her set up with her mood board that laid out every detail of how she visioned her wedding day. It’s obvious by all the pictures by their amazing photographer [MacCoy Dean Photography] that everything turned out perfect!

The warm September morning was beautiful as the bride and groom were both able to enjoy themselves while getting ready for the big day.

While they said their vows, my team and I were busy getting every last detail done to take their breaths away while walking into the reception. It was easy to do with such a beautiful space, gorgeous florals and amazing uplighting.

Check out those beautiful centerpieces done by Amanda Karam Floral!

A New Year of Love

When I was asked if I was available to do the day of coordination for a New Year’s Eve wedding I had to accept. Some might think it’s not a good idea to have a wedding on the Holiday, but it was the complete opposite. It gave McKenzie and Tony’s favorite people in the world a beautiful party filled with love to end the year and start anew.

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Evergreen Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. A gorgeous space to make their vision come to life.

They asked me to line up the ceremony in a circular rotation so that everyone could get a good view of them in the middle saying their vows. It was a beautiful set up adorned with flower arrangements made by Tony’s grandmother with love.

The room flip was flawless as my team and I pulled out tables and rearranged chairs. The table settings and linens were all provided by The Party Place rentals.

The couple was so graceful and kind to work with. Their love showed in all the details of the day, and in the way they connected with each other and with every guest that attended awaiting midnight.

Ryan + Mirelle Lay-lee

There’s a lot that goes into every wedding and the details, but for this Syrian wedding, a lot is an understatement. From the night before party to the walk out of the house, every step had a piece of coordination that needed my backing.

The rehearsal dinner was a wedding in itself. Two hundred people gathered together for a “less fancy evening” with live music and delicious food that was made with absolute love by the bride’s mother.

Though less fancy than the wedding, the event was covered in linens and topped with centerpieces. But that was nothing compared to the entrances of both the bride and groom. It started with the bride and all her favorite ladies pulling up to the venue together in beautiful dresses and contagious smiles. They were met by the “tubal” player, a young man with a big bass drum that would beat as the girls walked in together with the bride and her best friend/sister leading the way to start the dancing.

The look on their mother’s face showed that she believed all the hard work was worth it. Not just in prepping for such an occasion but by raising two beautiful, strong women that stood together as best friends. Her pride was radiating.

About thirty minutes later it would be time for the handsome groom to arrive in similar fashion. Pulling up with his boys and their big cigars they waited out for the same drum to beat them to the crowd where his beautiful soon-to-be wife waited for him. He was greeted with hugs and thick embraces from uncles that were in awe of the man he had become.

His mother teared up as he approached his bride, so proud of both him and his fiancée.

The love and excitement in the room was contagious. Both families were in high spirits celebrating the two. I get goosebumps looking at these pictures. It was a beautiful event to be a part of.
