NAJLA [Nuj-LAH] ROSE

After graduating from Portland State University Najla got a job at The Hilton Portland and Executive Tower as assistant to their wedding coordinator. She loved seeing events come to life, starting with the initial couples meeting and ending with intricate details delivered by the banquet team to create flawless nights. There was an art to the structure the hotel staff used, and she admired their work ethic and professionalism in executing perfection, so much so that she even had her own wedding there.

She wanted to do more than draft contracts and process event orders, though. She wanted the front seat to the planning. After some well taught time, she left to start a venture on her own. She was a young newlywed starting out in a big world of weddings with vendors that had been doing it for years. Holding her own while her husband opened up a restaurant, it came time to start a family.  Affordable insurance was needed to do so, so Najla got a job in the corporate world doing something she never thought she would: banking.  It was rough keeping up with sales, quotas and a new baby while pursuing her passion at any opportunity she had.

“I was tired; exhausted, but I didn’t want to let go of weddings. So I’d put in forty hours a week at the bank and did as many weddings I could on holidays and weekends to keep my name relevant and my spirit engaged.”

In 2019, Najla and her husband opened a second restaurant, giving her more opportunity to focus on her dreams.  She backed out of her competitive sales job and decided to be a full time event planner. Her hard work ethic, eye for detail and calm nature has been what attracts couples to her style of work. It’s clear when you meet her that this is her passion and that the visions you have for your event will be accomplished with her aid and insight.

When she’s not planning weddings, she’s planning something.  She keeps her family connected with warm, welcoming events to look forward to, whether a luncheon or a birthday, a bridal shower or an anniversary.

“Events are what keep people connected, otherwise we’d all be stuck in our daily routine, forgetting about things that matter the most, friends and family.”
